65 Babies - All Winners!

That's the number of contestants we had at this past weekends baby contest!  Thank you to everyone that attended and to those who helped us out!  Things went pretty smooth this year and the babies were beautiful.

The sun shined as the babies strutted their stuff on the red carpet.  I'm posting a couple of pics really quick this morning, but hope to get some better shots of our winners up soon.  In addition to this, we had video shot of the whole contest.  It might take us some time to edit, but we promise to get that up asap.

Thanks again to everyone for another fun and successful year!

Someone Stole My Pea Puree

If you are a fan of Top Chef and watched the reunion last night, then you get the title. If not, then just know that its not my puree, it's Ed's from Top Chef.

I cant believe that Tom C. (judge) Couldn't see that Alex (Ed's competitor) was guilty of stealing Ed's pea puree! Not to mention the fact that Alex wins the challenge with his mysteriously good pea puree.

It was sooo funny to see Alex then turn around and ask for a "hooker and an 8 ball" in the next clip. This guy is the poster child for background checks!

Too Funny!

Sorry Ed!

3 Years Old!

For those of you that have older kids, you might have to take a moment to think back to this time, but I'm sure you will agree, it's great! We just celebrated our daughter's 3rd birthday and it was alot of fun!

We took her to the Kansas City Zoo. She was surprisingly amazed by the elephants and the turtles. Sorry Camel. :(

Anyway, we were surprised at how nice it was!  However, the price wasn't cheap.  For the three of us it was around $30.  Won't do that often.  It was also really busy!  It's a good thing we got there fairly early (10:00am), or it would have been chaos!  As you can see below, even at 10:00, the line wasn't short.

I think the part that was the most disturbing was simply seeing the animals trapped in those cages.  I mean, we're not really big animal lovers, but it just seems in-humane to keep them trapped like that.  I'm all for advancing science, curing diseases, or even a good steak, but to just cage'm up and charge money to gawk at them?  That just doesn't seem right.  That poor lion just looked like he was ready to off himself or something.  Saying he was depressed just doesn't do it justice - and that's the lion; could you imagine what the camel is thinking?

No matter what, it was a good experience for the family and it was a beautiful day.  Although, I don't see us going back anytime soon.  The sad thing is that we were so tired after running around the zoo, that instead of finding a new restaurant in KC for a late lunch, we opted for the easy route back in LS at Applebees.  We knew they would sing happy b-day to her, which we thought would be fun.
All in all, the third b-day was the best so far.  We enjoyed our time together as a family and she really appreciated her present (new toy box) and her time with Mommy & Daddy.  We are definitely looking forward to next year!
